Has anyone ever seen the movie The Holiday where Kate Winslet and Cameron Dias switch homes through an online rental program? Brian Chesky, a Niskayuna native established one of these companies called Airbnb in 2008. Since, Airbnb has become a world renown business, offering a unique travel experience in over 33,000 cities in 192 countries. 

Airbnb describes themselves as "a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world — online or from a mobile phone... with world-class customer service and a growing community of users, Airbnb is the easiest way for people to monetize their extra space and showcase it to an audience of millions."

I've spent many of hours looking through the sensational spaces Airbnb has to offer and can't wait to give it a try one day. If you're into travelling and like to see places in a different way, next time consider skipping a hotel reservation and give Airbnb a shot.
