Margarine or Butter? Growing up I was under the impression that margarine was a healthier substitute for butter. Turns out, I learned wrong. Apparently, although calorically similar, the molecular structure of margerine is more similar to plastic and it's negative side effects seem to trump those of tastier butter. I found this blog post to be very enlightening. Although I have not personally bought margarine in a while, I will no longer question my purchasing decision for dietary purposes any longer.
