This summer, the five SCARIEST words you can hear are, "we're turning off the air."
My wife gave the command to open up all of the windows at our house yesterday once the cool breeze that we've been waiting at least four weeks to feel, came blowing through the Capital Region. It was so nice last night… (how nice was it?)… it was so nice that I was able to enjoy an iced beverage on my back porch without breaking a sweat while feeding the mosquitos.
This morning, I woke up with a slight shiver from MY WINDOWS BEING OPEN. I could feel the smile forming on my face as I ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOWS IN MY CAR to put my hand out to feel the amazing cool temps. At work, I didn't have to part half a mile away under the shade tree - the blistering heat would not be bothering my car today, melting my gum into a giant wad while turing what ever half-finished juice box in my back seat into a bottle of wine. Nope. Not today.
Even going out for a quick run to Subway for lunch was pleasant. We're not quite at the sit outside for lunch weather just yet but if our recent weather break is the downside of the rain, heat, and humidity summer weather roller coaster ride - I will enjoy every hour of the decent to fall temperatures.
Now if only we could do something about those pesky little blood suckers at night.
